System Administrator

Role description:

Evoca is looking for a System Administrator who will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and ensuring the reliable and secure operation of the Bank’s IT infrastructure, including servers, virtualization platforms, backup systems and monitoring environments.

What will you be doing?

• administer, maintain and support Windows Server and Linux environments;
• administer VMware vSphere, vCenter and ESXi environments;
• create, configure, deploy, maintain and troubleshoot virtual machines;
• manage VM provisioning, resource allocation, migration, snapshots, backup and recovery;
• monitor server and infrastructure availability, health, performance and capacity;
• configure and maintain monitoring tools such as Zabbix, NNMi or similar platforms;
• manage monitoring dashboards, alerts, triggers and system notifications;
• investigate system alerts, performance issues, service interruptions and infrastructure incidents;
• administer Veeam Backup & Replication;
• create, schedule, monitor and troubleshoot backup and replication jobs;
• perform restore operations and regularly verify backup and recovery readiness;
• maintain backup retention policies and participate in disaster recovery planning and testing;
• manage user access, permissions and infrastructure-related access requests
• perform system updates, patching, upgrades and preventive maintenance;
• troubleshoot server, virtualization, backup, storage and basic networking issues;
• monitor infrastructure capacity and contribute to resource optimization and capacity planning;
• maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures, configurations and infrastructure inventories
• participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, upgrades and implementation of new technologies.

What skills are we looking for?

• bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or another technical field;
• at least 2 years of relevant experience;
• hands-on experience with Windows Server and Linux administration;
• active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy;
• creation, deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting of virtual machines;
• experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter and ESXi environments;
• virtual machine provisioning, resource allocation, migration, snapshots, backup and recovery;
• configuration and administration of monitoring tools such as Zabbix, NNMi or similar platforms;
• monitoring dashboards, alerts, system availability, performance and capacity metrics;
• configuration and administration of Veeam Backup & Replication;
• backup job creation, scheduling, monitoring, restore operations and troubleshooting;
• knowledge of backup retention policies and disaster recovery procedures;
• user, permission and access management;
• basic networking knowledge.
